2012's Cosplay

Dear all,

Comic Fiesta 2012 was cool.So cool that my voice became hoarse at the end of the first day and practically voiceless at the end of the second day..lol!

As things were busy over at the Side Quest ( somewhat like a mini-adventure quest where winner of the quest will get a free lifetime pass to future CF event) booth, not much photos was taken ( actually none at all except a few camwhores..and the lack of my own photos taken was a bit saddening but well, at least I get to have fun).

So far, the experience of cosplaying has been a positive one ( not towards my wallet and bank account though).

CF is coming to TOWN

Dear all,

How's life? I hope all's good and going well!

Mine at the moment is sort of plain and boring. Been keeping myself busy though with preparation for one of the biggest event of the year ( something most ACG (Anime,Comic,Game) lovers look forward to every end of the year).....COMIC FIESTA : D

Similarly to previous year, the venue for this year's CF will be held at KLCC on the 22nd and 23rd December. One of the biggest and longest running ACG event among the rest in Malaysia ;)

I will be volunteering this year as well and unlike last year, I will be cosplaying too :) Have got my costumes ready and now all left is the hardest part...MAKE UP and also WIG styling..both of which I am pretty bad at but I am working on it.Let's hope that I will not end up looking like Joker instead.

:) well, that's all for now. will update more later. ( just lazy to write eventhough there are PLENTY to write :) )

The Lazy one,

Final Push

Dear all,

Yours truly has still yet to get his internet connection back so be patient yeah.Hopefully by this weekend, everything will be back to normal!!

It's going to be a busy month though..one month of final preparation for the last hurdle of my university life ( HOPEFULLY!)..and once all this is over, I guess I can slowly sit back and relax, enjoying the flavours of freedom until I get my 8 to 5 job..(Q.Q)..the taste of adulthood and full independence that is..

Well, Christopher, just hang on there and fight like your life depend on it ( matter of fact, it does actually)..I am already thinking of where to go for vacation after this..lol! backpacking maybe? and also the various cosplans I have in my head..oh dear, and it all involves $$$$!!! any kind sponsors here?

The one in dilemma,
Chris C

If...

Dear All,

I have always loved this poem since the first day I came across it during my English lesson when I was in my secondary school..not sure if it's form 1 or 2..Just want to share it with all of you and may you find joy in reading it as well :)

IF- Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

[END]

Yours,
Chris C

Chang Er and Me

Dear All,

Hows things going for you guys? I hope that it is better than my current situation dealing with water supply crisis at the campus hostel which I am getting really tired and annoyed with..Just hoping to get a suitable place to move out as soon as possible..*sigh*.. Should have done that earlier.. :/

Anyway..

Last Wednesday was the Mid- Autumn celebration or commonly known as the " Mooncake Festival " where people indulge in the sinfully delicious calories packed Diabetes causing pastry and small children played with fire by burning lighting up candles and lanterns..

So in accordance to the festival, my class decided to have our very first own cohort celebration since most of us are away from home and it is a good chance to share this wonderful culture with our non-chinese classmates..:)

Name of Event : Mooncake Festival a.k.a Cohort 2 Lighting Sessions ( WTF..LoL)
Date : 22nd Sept 2010
Venue : Taman Jaya , PJ

.......I am feeling lazy to type any more further details........

So,

As they say " Pictures speaks a sen no kotoba-wa ", I am posting up some photos instead for the torture pleasure of my dear reader's eye.. :P

A story of His Marchness on the month of March

Dear All,

I am BACK!!!
Please say that you guys missed me..pretty please~ NO? Awwwwww...Boo Hoo~
Yeah,it's been some few weeks back since I last updated my blog and this is due to lack of inspiration and motivation ( Yeah..since I don't get any support from anyone of you :P ) and also myself being occupied with class and stuffs ( What stuffs? I don't know either but there's always something which keeps me busy and yet I kept complaining of boredom all the time..how ironic..)

As it is the last day of March so I thought of highlighting some interesting event I did on the month of March. These are things which I did, watch , eat and went throughout the whole month:

Books read:

- The Art of Happiness by HH Dalai Lama & Howard C. Cutler

- The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

- The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne

Movie Watched:

- Hot Summer Days

-Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief

- Alice In Wonderland ( 3D)

- Up in The Air

- The Lovely Bones

Food Eaten :
- Seoul Garden
- Popiah
- Mee Rebus
- Lo Bak
- Wan tan Mee
- Char Kueh Kak

* Words highlighted in yellow are all eaten during Taiping trip

Travel :
- Taiping ( For Leisure)
- Inti College, Nilai ( For Work)

Weather:
- Either scorching HOT or heavy RAIN (=.=)

So there,that's is more or less of all the things I have achieved in the month of March :)
Of course,I would want to blog about each activities individually but I guess the lazy bug is affecting me..:P

Okay..okay..stop bombarding me already for being so lazy..I shall at least blog about my trip to Taiping.. But not now though..maybe in the coming day or two..>:P

Well,till then..see ya all soon ..cheers and take care :D

Yakult Chew ??

Dear all,

After a moment of being absent, I decided that I need to get back on track..This year's CNY have been a really quiet one..unlike those of the previous years..Kinda sad huh?

Nevertheless, I still did managed to catch up with a few of my cousins @ Malacca..and boy,the outing with them was real fun albeit a short one though due to time constraint..

From back: Me, Fiona and Amy

From back (Clockwise): Me, Amy and errr...Fiona's hand XD

Just let me briefly list out what and where did we went to :

Morning :
- Amy came to pick Fiona and me from Fiona's place..
- Cheng Hoon Teng temple for prayer..( Suddenly feeling religious!)
- Went for pineapple tart hunting..

Afternoon :
- Went to the newly opened Aeon Jusco to escape the scorching murderous heat out there.. >< ... - Had lunch at Sushi King..
- Continue to explore the shopping complex..many stores ain't open either due to CNY or under renovation.

Late Afternoon :

-Went to visit my aunt and uncle (Amy's parents) at their work place because I have to leave for Johore the next day...
-Back to Fiona's place..took a shower and nap till dinner time ..><

Some scallop fiesta

Our "mini" Yee Sang

Loh ah~ Huat ah~ Ong ah~

And while we were at Sushi King..we sort of took some candid pics..for example :

Got pinched? (T.T)

Got " Head-Snatched" ?

Got "Chopsticked" ?

Got "Smacked" ??

Got "Chopsticked" once again...

And we were discussing something about a famous singer named "Yoga Lin"..seriously I have never heard of such person before.. Perhaps because I don't really follow those Asian Entertainment News..and I somehow find that name silly that I randomly proclaim that I shall be known as "Yakult Chew" !! *LMAO*

" Yakult " Chew and his Yakult?

Gosh...tastes soooooo....heavenly...Yakult..Good for constipation...
( sounds like some sort of inofficial Yakult promoting )

Conclusion? Hmmph...(with the proud and arrogant look)....
Just call me YAKULT CHEW !!!

After lunch,it's time for more candid shots..hee... :P

Slurppp~ I don't taste anything..only colourings...XD

Chotto Matte Kudasai~~~ Matte nehhh~~ Don't leave me..sob sob..

This is how you "catch" a girl..hee...now sweetie..you're mine..nyahahha~~

Psst..psst..Don't tell Samantha k?? *gossip gossip*

Ooops...emm emm....*speechless*..hehe

Cake anyone??

And not to be forgotten that Valentine's day falls on the same day as CNY this year~~

In my heart..there's only place for my sushis and bentos...hehe

Well...that is all for now I guess..will update you guys soon on CNY @ hometown no.2..(be patient yeah...Yakult is still trying to invoke his blogger sense)...><

Till then , take care and have a great day ahead..cheers :)

Awaken..Enlightenment..Salvation

Dear all,

The clock shows 2.16am and yet I am still wide awake.Have got nothing much to do besides downloading songs (The internet connection is much smoother during this hour thus making downloading much more efficient and bearable) and trying to cramp in the origins and insertions of muscles into my slow-absorbing brain without much success (Sigh~)

Last week have not been a good one for me..Everything seem to be turning upside down in my world and I am like a shadow drifting aimlessly in the darkness,searching eagerly for a sign to help me to escape from this misery..Then again,with encouragement from the people who was by my side during that dark moment ,I managed to redeem myself and stand on my feet again.I decided that it is useless to mop around waiting for the phone call or message reply which never seemed to arrive..After reading an article forwarded to me by a good buddy of mine, I realised that I am facing one particular psychological disorder known as "Emotional Dependency" syndrome.. I succumb myself to fate and time shall decide and heal this fragile broken soul of mine..Like they say "If something or someone is meant to be yours, it/they will eventually come back to you "...and if it/they doesn't..it just mean that they/it got stuck in the middle of a very bad traffic jam or got lost during the mailing process!!..hehe..Anyway,I would like to thank all those who had help me through..thanks a lot to YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU and YOU (well..although they are my saviours but not nice to mention names right? Anyway,you guys know who you are especially YOU ) :)

As for my temporary "infatuation", I don't know if you will ever happened to be reading this..but if you do, well..I would like you to know that although your unthoughtful actions hurt me and left me helpless, you are forgiven and I wish you all the best in your future undertakings..thanks for the brief but memorable time together..It has been a good experience and eye opener for the naive me..Nevertheless till our paths cross again, I whisper a silent farewell to you, my temporary "infatuation"..

Back to current issues, went to MidValley last Sunday to accompany a friend to shop for his Chinese New Year clothing. I am feeling sorry for him because he chose a wrong person for this job..(ME!!)..why? Simply because I don't really have a good sense of fashion and as far as concerned, perfectionist I may be albeit not a picky one..give me a simple tees and a pair of pants,I am ready to go..(>.<)..Then again not to say the outing isn't fruitful as he still managed to salvage a few pieces of clothing by the end of the day..fuhhh~ at least the long period of standing and walking and crowd squashing does not end in vain..and the best part of the day was that I got to watch an acrobatic show live for the first time of my life..We were just about to head back home when I noticed that a small crowd have started to gather around the centre stage..Feeling curious (Perhaps more of being kiasu and busybody),I dragged my friend along to check things out..We then pick a spot and stand there for like 10 minutes and yet there isn't anything extraordinary and yet we are wondering why are people gathering around there when there isn't any sort of performance on the stage..Feeling as if being fooled,we thought of leaving and head back home instead but in the end still decided to stay back a little longer..and I am proud to say that is the best decision made that day..the performers came running out from the backstage and the show begin...I can only say that I watched the whole acrobatic stunts with awe and excitement..sort of feeling like a small boy once again..:D Managed to snap a few pics of the acrobatic performance although some of them isn't really clear..Here is the link :
GuanXi Acrobatic Performance MV CNY 2010

Thats all for now..It is really late now and I shall keep the rest for another time..moreover I am down with a sudden bouts of mild cough..sigh..Hopefully I am able to recover before CNY..Till next time,have a good one folks..:)

Yours Truly,

Chris C. the Enlightened Kiasu Kiddo

Of Steamboat and Vampires

Greetings to all,

Once again,it is a clear Sunday afternoon as well as the last day of January 2010..Time flies doesn't it..I can hardly imagine what have I achieved during this one whole month..Perhaps lots of time wasting and procrastinating as usual..

Anyway,back to the title today.."Of Steamboat and Vampires"..Haha..no,both does not relate to each other..no worries,there would not be anything about vampires enjoying a steamboat meal..

Firstly, steamboat huh?Well,a friend of mine who is an avid fan of stage drama,musical,acting etc etc and who also happened to be the president of a non-profit artistic association called "SeedismArt" directed a stage play called "The Steamboat's Story".He have been requesting me to attend this show couple weeks back and since I missed another of his show last year which was called "The Straw",I decided to make up for it by attending this show.So along with two other buddies,we head to Mutiara Shopping Complex situated at Jln Ipoh,KL where the show was held on the third day ( It is a four day show and the first two sessions was at the Theatre Hall of the HELP University College).And yeah,upon reaching the venue,we were escorted to a small little room at this place called the "Drama Cafe"..Never did I know that such a place actually existed..

As this is my first time attending a stage play drama,I didn't really know what to expect..nevertheless I took my seat and wait..the room slowly became dim...and suddenly "Poof"..spotlight..a girl with exceptionally thick make-up jumped out from nowhere..frankly speaking,I had a shock initially as I was sitting near to the place where she mysteriously appeared..haha..and so I found out that this a one-man act show..whereby the actor assume numerous roles all by himself..in this case,an actress by herself..pretty impressive..

The show "The Steamboat's Story" is about life of a middle-age housewife a.k.a Aunty..As she (the actress) narrates and acts through her way,fascinating the audience about real life fact of a housewife during preparation of the coming Chinese New Year Eve dinner and also side-tracked a bit towards memories of her younger days and lots of juicy gossips as that you will expect of a typical aunty at the market..With pretty convincing facial expression and different tone of voice and the well-chosen background music,the actress portrays not only the main character which is the housewife but also few other characters such as other gossiping aunties from the neighbourhood (sounded a lil bit like Desperate Housewives right?), the husband, parents-in-law, children etc etc..all these roles by herself.Pretty cool huh..

The show went well but towards the end of the show, using plush toys to substitute the family members of the housewife (I was puzzled as well at first),flashback of a recording showing glimpse of a news report about how a family of 4 was perished in an vehicle accident..then only I realised that it was the family members of the housewife and that the poor lady unable to accept the fact that all her beloved family members had pass on and there wouldn't be any chance for the usual CNY reunion dinner around the traditional steamboat style dinner..with that she went mad and the past memories of her family members tortured her poor soul and mind..and it was during this heart-wrenching scene,I actually cried and looking around,I realised that other audiences were either crying as well or trying to hold back their tears..

The fact that this stage show serves to remind us to appreciate each moment with our family members and loved ones before it is too late..Good storyline,good and convincing acting skills,what else could I say besides bravo and kudos..Then again,there are room for more improvements but I'm satisfied for now..:)

Hmmm..that is the rough description of "The Steamboat's Story" in my own understanding..My apologies if you find it confusing as it is hard to describe by words and it would be much better to watch it yourself though..Next..interesting..vampires..those blood-sucking mythical beings..take your guess what could it be all about..

.................well?

If you're guessing that I have turned myself into a Vampire,haha..of course not silly!! Yes,you have guessed correctly for those who managed to connect it with the movie "Cirque Du Freak : The Vampire Assistant"..LOL..But I have the feeling most of you would have connected it to another vampire-ish movie, New Moon..

It is not exactly a newly released movie but then again,yeah..this is my first ever late night (to be exact Midnight) movie at the cinema..Yes yes..I know..nothing impressive and most probably most of you have done it before me..outdated ain't I?Haha..Well,it was a last minute plan and the rest of movie had either all fully booked or left only with non-strategic seats..so the only movie left which looks appetising enough is this particular show.

To make things brief, based on a fantasy fictional book of the same title written by Darren Shan,this movie is about a young teenage named Darren Shan (errr...don't ask me why the author and the main character of the book/movie shares the similar name) who was turned into a half vampire and were forced to join the travelling freak show circus in order to save his best friend, Steven who then ends up opposing each other in a battle between the vampires and the vampaneezee...Yeah,that is more or less about it..with appearance of famous actors and actress such as Ken Watanabe (The Chairman from Memoirs of Geisha), Salma Hayek , John C.Reily etc etc..haha.. I can only conclude that its a fast-paced storyline movie but can be considered worth watching for those who are into fantasy and vampire-related movies..:)

Erm...hello?Ladies and Gentlemen,we have now reached the end of the "show"..hope that you people enjoyed the sleep "show" and once again,thank you for dropping by..very much appreciated..Hope to see all of you again..till then,au revoir..cheers and have a good one.. ;)

Yours Truly,

Chris C. a.k.a the steamboat fascinated vampire wannabe :P
